This week Kevin played an original song called “Full Moon” that he wrote in college.  He intended to use it as a marriage proposal.  Sarah was that lucky girl.

Sarah was going to talk about something frivolous until Kevin surprised her for Valentine’s Day with this song.  She then discussed the meaning of this song for her.

They discussed Magic the Gathering in the Rec Room and they talked about 5 Love Languages in Family Matters.

Kevin shared an instrumental song called “Summer Time”.  He wrote it in college.  Sarah shared about the emotional toll of adoption travel and an update on her 12 month reading challenge.  The Rec Room had us talking about a game called Perudo and in Family Matters we discussed what we are learning through the process of international adoption.

We are so happy that you have joined us for another edition of the We Are Harpo Podcast!  This week Kevin played another original song from Psalm 91.  He also talked about the influence of Shane & Shane in his songwriting process.  We also discussed other scripture based songs Kevin has written.  Many are based on 1 Peter and 2 Peter.  Maybe those songs will be shared in later episodes!

Sarah talked about the Netflix series Making a Murderer.  There may be a few spoilers in this discussion for this show and also for the first season of the Serial Podcast.  Sorry.

The Rec Room brought a discussion about a newer game brought into our house called Forbidden Island.  It is a 2-4 player cooperative game that is fun and incredibly challenging.  There is also an app for this game that we have really enjoyed.  Kevin mentioned it was $8.99.  It is currently $4.99.  I’m hoping we only paid $4.99 . . . for our budgets sake.  Here is a picture of our Rec Room Jar that contains all of the possible picks in the weeks to come!

Finally, in Family Matters we began discussing our son’s adoption story and quickly decided we needed to break it into two parts.  So we will continue the journey next week!

As always, please feel free to email us at weareharpo@gmail.com if you have any comments or questions.  We would also love to hear if you are listening to the show but do not know either of us personally.  We just think it would be fun to know that!

Have a great week!  We will see you next time.

We are so excited that this is actually happening!  If we uploaded and downloaded everything correctly, you could be listening to us right now!

We are thrilled that you have chosen to join us on this adventure!  We really have no idea what we are doing and are learning new things every step along the way, but we are so grateful that we get to do this together and share the Harpootlian life with you.

Our road has not been easy and it doesn’t look like path is getting any less bumpy.  We do not always handle the turbulence with grace, but we try to keep our eyes focused on Jesus and let Him shine through our dark places.

The We are Harpo Podcast is first and foremost a way for Kevin and Sarah to connect with each other creatively and work through different things we are going through in our life and family.  We use humor to see us through a lot!  If you find this encouraging and can learn along side of us, then we count that as a win-win!

Each week we will peek into the Harpootlian household in four different areas.  In Kevin’s corner he will share something that has been on his heart.  He has said it will usual be something musical.  This week he shared an original song called “Big Balloon” and let us in on the inspiration for writing this song.

Sarah’s Space will be a segment for Sarah to talk about different things that she likes to discuss.  She has not made a formal commitment to have this segment be about a specific topic.  This week she shared about The Emotions’ Survival Guide from the movie Inside Out.  She picked a couple up as Christmas presents to help younger family members learn and deal with their emotions in a healthy way.

The Rec Room will be a weekly segment where Kevin and Sarah randomly draw the name of a game or movie that is on their Rec Room shelf.  Game nights and movies are a big part of Harpootlian life.  It is a great way to relax and build camaraderie with a group of people.  This week they discussed the game Telestrations.  It’s a party game that combines the old school game of telephone and pictionary.  We love this game so much that we are able to set aside our competitive natures and just play without keeping score!

The last segment each week will be Family Matters.  We hope to show you why family matters or discuss matters that are happening in our family.  This week we shared how we met and married.  We also discussed The New Tetris as a part of our dating story.  It’s an awesome game that I am sure we will find time to play again . . . some day.

Thanks for listening (and reading).  We hope to see you next week!
